Need help on where to start. My brother died at Jackson Hospital in Marianna Florida on Veteran's Day 2008. I want to know what happened to him while he was in their care. They told me that he died of cardiac arrest when they attempted to put him under anesthesia, but on the death certificate that is not listed as the cause of death. He lived with me and mom in Michigan and happened to be camping in that area when he collapsed and was taken to the hospital for internal bleeding. I want to know how I can find out what really happened to him and if there was medical malpractice involved. I just don't know why they wouldn't let me talk to him the night before he passed away. I called many times throughout the night and they had every excuse for me not to speak to him. Was he in a coma; on life support; they kept me and my mom in the dark on the whole thing. They called her to ask her permission to put him under for surgery and a half hour later called to say he had the heart attack and they couldn't revive him. What can I do?
