Statewide official records search

MyFloridaCounty.com now provides a single portal for searching official state records by county. Not all counties are available as of this writing, but plans are to have them up and running in phases. Currently 58 counties are in the list. The most populated counties like Broward and Miami-Dade are not yet ready. This service does not include Criminal Court records. There are additional search tips provided on the site for searching these records, way at the bottom of the page.

Constitutional initiatives and amendments

For a quick list of initiatives, amendments and revisions to the Florida Constitution, visit the page compiled by the Election Division of the Dept. of State. Researchers can view historical lists back to 1978. More information about the initiative petition process is located here.

Search Florida chartered financial institutions

The Florida Dept. of Financial Services, Office of Financial Regulations has a search tool for locating state chartered financial institutions. There are three types of searches for this information. Search by Institution, by Branch, and by Licensing application. Searches are for both active and inactive institutions.

Florida Electronic Library

The newly introduced Florida Electronic Library is an information portal for the citizens of Florida. From here, link to two more new Florida web resources. The first is Florida on Florida a digital collection of Florida's history, culture and environment. The database contains maps, photos, postcards, books and manuscripts. And the second is the Florida Group Catalog which utilizes OCLC's FirstSearch database. It searches only Florida libraries.

RSS feeds for Florida agencies

The first two Florida agencies to use RSS feeds are the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and the Florida Dept. of Law Enforcement (FDLE). The FWC's RSS page describes how to set up RSS news feeds and lists six FWC news feed. They are: FWC News, FWC Hunting, FWC Fishing, FWC Law, FWC Wildlife, and FWC Headlines.

The FDLE news feeds are FDLE news headlines and press releases. Their RSS information page offers the ability to either read the RSS feed through an RSS reader or to put their news feed on a web site.
